Why Intelligent People Tend to Have Less Friends? Create stunning 3D Avatar on your site or store with http://bit.ly/Stunning3DAvatar Just how many friends do you have guys? In case the answer is one or two, or maybe none at all, then maybe you are one of an intelligent person, or maybe even brilliance. Well, do you realize that intelligent people usually have fewer friends? Do you even think what's wrong with those people or how they interact in social life? Do they see the world in a different point than the rest of us? Well, Psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa from London School of Economics quantified the happiness levels of 15,000 individuals with various IQ levels. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Other amazing videos: Top 5 Exciting Things In Porn That Actually Hurt A Lot : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B57q-ikk9Zc Why Straight Women Tend To Have Less Orgasms : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXFVOVdlJfI 7 Tips You Can Apply To Last Longer In Bed : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7PYtj0psLo ------------------------------------------------------------------ Subscribe : https://www.youtube.com/c/BehindTheScienceFacts?sub_confirmation=1 ------------------------------------------------------------------ He quantified the happiness of all individuals on two conditions, when they were entirely alone and once whilst they were socializing with a group of friends. What the results revealed was that for people who have low to average intelligence amounts they reported greater self-well-being when they spent time with friends and it appears the more friends they had, the more happy they were made by it. But the precise reverse was true for people who have rather high intelligence amounts. When alone, they reported having greater happiness. It is likely they have their own world to mess with. Some theorize suggested that intelligent individuals are more sceptical of others, they are more-able to see the flaws of humankind and so prefer not to get tangled up with them. It’s also believed that when intelligent people do form a friendships, it’s mainly for private gain or just out of awkwardness and expectations. Whereas other people form friendships for psychological support or a lust for popularity and attention. Intelligent people don’t want psychological support, trust me they are capable of handling their own problem, even some time they desperately doing projects while dwelling against time. Well, This aversion towards human interaction really intensifies in a linear and predictable manner with increased intelligence. Sometime, some people just found it really hard to form bonds and relationships with other people. For instance, Nikola Tesla never married or had sex, his tastes were different than any other person, he fell in love with a pigeon. Seriously, you don't have to be like that guys. He really wrote something like this, "I adored that pigeon as a man loves a girl, and she adored me. As long as I had her, there was a purpose to my life." Surely that's a bit weird. Another example is Isaac Newton, one of the most brilliant men to ever walk the Earth. Despite we really owe a lot to him, he founded calculus gravitation along with the laws of motion, and of course others innumerable findings. Well, he essentially created the basis for most modern day physics. Yet, to say he was socially-awkward is a hard reality to bear. He was a private person, never had any particular friends aside from a mild acquaintanceship with a Swiss mathematician and he died a virgin. Despite he met a lot of people, yet the reality is just hard to accept. It’s not that exceptionally intelligent individuals are antisocial, it’s only that they're in the minority and so struggle to find people that share their point of views of the world, accept their flaws and sometime their ridiculous personality. Because after all, regardless how many times you’ve been told the scientifically-proven falsehood of “opposites attract”, it’s similarities that form a long-term bonds and bring individuals together. In a simple explanation, similarities with others are rare if you are determined the Earth revolves round the Sun while the remainder of the moronic person you share the planet with refuse to believe you. Another result found in Kanazawa’s study also revealed that individuals who lived in densely populated regions were significantly less happy than those in less populated areas. This really isn't the first scientific study to recognize this happening. Innumerable research have found that cities that were large harbour hate towards our fellow individuals. Whereas the most friendly and most inviting of individuals are available in rural settlements and small towns. This occurrence was noticed all around the globe.

Don't worry about it. Let go. All three sounds easier said than done, but then everything in life worth having is easier said than done. There’s nothing more worthwhile in this lifetime than our peace of mind, and if we're not able to let go of grudges, resentment, worries or anger, we are wasting away the precious seconds we have alive. There is this misconception that choosing to be happy means we have to FORCE ourselves to be happy. That doesn't make sense because when we force something, it only makes us more resentful and more guilty. Letting go is the opposite of forcing - it is accepting. There is no way to force reality to be different. Fighting against reality is unintelligent, because that's like pushing against a brick wall. Reality isn't going to change no matter how hard we push, reality isn’t going to change no matter how miserable we feel. Accepting reality does not mean we are overjoyed at what has happened, but it means that we are no longer fighting against it. It's looking at it and saying, okay, I accept this and I'm letting go. The question to always ask is, can we change the situation? If yes, then we change it. If no, then worrying, being angry or being unhappy is simply not very smart and just self-indulgent. This is why we can choose to be happy, instead of choosing to wallow in anger or self-pity. Because in every situation, we only really have 2 choices in life - do I want to be happy, or do I want to be miserable? Don't choose to be miserable, unless being miserable is going to miraculously give you peace. Choose happiness, because it means you are consciously deciding to put in positive actions to have a peace of mind no matter the circumstance. We're not robots and will definitely be affected by negative emotions, but we can choose to not wallow in them. We’re upset, and then we get over it. Live by the 5 by 5 rule: if it's not gonna matter in 5 years, don't spend more than 5 minutes being upset by it. Life is short. Don't waste any more of your precious seconds being upset. Choose to be smart, choose to be happy, always! ----

Stuart talks about how prediction, how we predict for AI, and how we keep failing - also how to make better predictions. Strong AI will probably be here this century. Also see his talk at Winter Intelligence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwULqhOTm34 Stuart Armstrong’s research at the Future of Humanity Institute centres on formal decision theory, general existential risk, the risks and possibilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI), assessing expertise and predictions, and anthropic (self-locating) probability. https://www.fhi.ox.ac.uk/team/stuart-armstrong/ How We’re Predicting AI—or Failing To: https://intelligence.org/files/PredictingAI.pdf Abstract This paper will look at the various predictions that have been made about AI and pro-pose decomposition schemas for analyzing them. It will propose a variety of theoretical tools for analyzing, judging, and improving these predictions. Focusing specifically on timeline predictions (dates given by which we should expect the creation of AI), it will show that there are strong theoretical grounds to expect predictions to be quite poor in this area. Using a database of 95 AI timeline predictions, it will show that these expectations are borne out in practice: expert predictions contradict each other considerably, and are indistinguishable from non-expert predictions and past failed predictions. Predictions that AI lie 15 to 25 years in the future are the most common, from experts and non-experts alike. Many thanks for watching! The Race to Quantum AI

AI is changing the world around us, making its way into businesses, health care, science and many other fields. In fact, most of us are happy to work daily with the all-knowing Google, the largest AI on Earth. Google; Golem; God: the associations are rather imposing. Are we on the verge of creating a true artificial brain? When artificial intelligence first emerged as a discipline, scientists had great hopes for it. They wanted to create General Artificial Intelligence, that is, a computer system capable of doing anything a human can, in a better and faster way than we do. After AI failed to deliver on its initial promises, scientists scaled back their expectations, instead focusing on specific tasks. This is called Narrow AI, and even though it’s a step back from General AI, it still gets important jobs done. Today’s software won’t argue with you about the world economy while fixing you a cup of tea or make you feel better when you’re depressed. It can still recognize your face, though, and understand you when you invite it to a game of chess. Today, after years of trying different approaches to creating AI, "machine learning" is the only area that brings promising and relevant results. The idea behind it is fairly simple. Rather than programming computers with a specific set of instructions to accomplish a particular task, such as moving around, speaking, or recognizing faces, you code machines to learn on their own how to perform the task. Unlike traditional programming, which uses explicit, sequential instructions, machine learning software looks at a large number of sample data and uses statistical modelling to find patterns therein. Training it to recognize pictures of horses involves showing it lots of horse pictures tagged as such, along with another set of pictures of other things. The machine then learns what data points are common to horse images, and can use them to identify new pictures. Various algorithmic concepts have been used for machine learning, but it was biomimetics, or biomimicry, that allowed for a real breakthrough. Biomimetics takes inspiration from biology, in this case the human brain, in order to design a more intelligent machine. This led to the development of Artificial Neural Networks, which are programmed to process information in the same way our brain does. Due to the exponential increase in computing power in the last few years, we're now able to build neural networks with much larger and deeper layers than it was previously possible. Although there is no clear border between the terms, this area of machine learning is often described as "deep learning." Deep learning can be summarized as a system of probability with a feedback loop on top of it. Based on a large dataset, it is able to make statements with a degree of certainty. For instance, the system might be 77% confident that there is a horse on the image, 90% confident that it’s an animal and 12% confident it’s a toy. To improve itself, the artificial neural network is able to learn from its mistakes, to be able to make a better decision later on. Our own learning processes are linked to the synapses in the brain, which serve as connections between our neurons. The more a synapse is stimulated, the more the connection is reinforced and learning improved. Researchers took inspiration from this mechanism to design an artificial synapse, called a memristor. The resistance of this electronic nanocomponent can be tuned using voltage pulses similar to those in neurons. If the resistance is low the synaptic connection will be strong, and if the resistance is high the connection will be weak. This capacity to adapt its resistance enables the synapse to learn. However, apart from the problem that we don’t really understand how human intelligence works, the functioning of a biological system like our brain remains fundamentally different. The initial enthusing over AI has faded and the sci-fi scenarios are mostly over. Even with the emergence of new machine-learning techniques the ultimate goal of the field—some form of General AI—remains a distant vision. Still, powerful machine learning is spreading into new industries and areas of daily life and will heighten attention on the unintended consequences that may result. Highly revered futurists like Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk have stated that artificial intelligence “could spell the end of the human race”. But this age we live in comes with a potential threat that is still a largely debated topic and it concerns mankind’s coexistence with sentient AI. While artificial intelligence is part of almost everything present in day to day civilian life and in military equipment like drones and sentry weapons, a sentient AI would surpass simple things like that. The arguments presented by the school of thought which sees a bleak and destructive future for mankind generally brings up points which tend to have a low probability of happening. At first, there is the age old argument concerning a so called “Rogue AI”, which is an advanced artificial intelligence that is damaged in some way and thus lacks one or more complex functions. Now, concerning the possible peaceful coexistence of man and machine, people have brought up some good arguments which generally say that there is nothing to fear. One major argument states that, if an army of AI’s were to start attacking human cities, we have pretty much the entire planet covered which is why they would not stand a chance. But in the end, when you really look at it, we may not know what will happen since we do not yet fully understand the concept of sentience and consciousness. Though a lot of people have started to conclude that robots and AI’s would not pose a threat in and of themselves, but could potentially be used by humans that have their own goals in mind. Since these could potentially be living creatures by themselves, we cannot really speculate anything with certainty but the fact still stands, robots and AI’s do not pose a threat to humanity as a whole. Sure a few jobs might get lost here and there but, in the end, intelligent machines will be the only thing we leave behind after we inevitably disappear, why not try to make the most of it? ethics of artificial intelligence
